Woman wearing round ZOCO sunglasses, late afternoon light in Seville

Designed in Andalucía

The glasses we couldn't find,
so we made them

ZOCO was born in 2023 in Andalucía, into a family of opticians who had spent half their lives behind the counter. They saw faces every day. And they saw what was missing from the display case.

It started with looking at eyes

Behind a counter you learn something that appears in no catalogue: how a frame settles on one particular face. Where it presses. Which lens width suits a narrow nose. Why a 145 mm temple saves you a whole afternoon.

That is where ZOCO comes from. Not from a trend, but from a list of things we kept missing when we had to recommend a pair of glasses and none of them convinced us.

Acetate, colour and a detail you only see up close

We work acetate in layers. That is where the laminations come from: that edge of colour peeking out at the corner of the front and at the tip of the temple, shifting as the light catches it. It is the first thing people who know the brand look for.

Every frame has its measurements engraved on the temple — lens width, bridge and temple — so that you and your optician know exactly what you are holding.

Sun and prescription, and little else to decide

The catalogue gets straight to the point: sunglasses and prescription frames, each with its own women's and men's page, in alphabetical order. Anything that works for both appears in both.

We don't sell online

ZOCO is bought at the optician's. That is where they fit the frame to your face, take your measurements and glaze the lens you need. This site is the shop window: choose here, try them on there.

Our work ends exactly where your optician's begins.
